Tea Tent
The Tea Tent returned for the second year running, was organised by the Sheffield Help the Aged Committee, and was a non-alcoholic seated café offering a quiet space to relax and refresh. The tea tent was joined by Silent Sheffield who ran a small cinema showing short films breaking stereotypes about older people.
Inspired by your granny’s front parlour the Tea Tent provided cream teas, home made cakes, savoury meals and as much tea as could possibly be drunk, not to forget Elvis soundtracks, 40’s saucy tunes, 50’s rock and roll, hostess trolleys, doilies and plastic flowers and a whole host of people in vintage dress, along with musical and spoken performances and, of course, some bingo.
